I can hardly believe it has been 4 years since we opened our doors on November 1st, 2015!  Thank you one and all for making this small business a success.  Coming to the store every day is a passion of mine, and I hope you enjoy your time here too!  My heart is filled with gratitude getting to know you as my customers and my friends.

It looks to be a snowy start to November. Let's hope it's nice weather for the Madison Gem and Mineral show on November 23rd and 24th.  Someone asked if I buy rocks there, or sell.  I laughed and told them that I do both.   My purpose at the show each year is to vend, but I can’t resist looking for and buying new crystals for the store.

I’m excited about the Quantum Healing workshop with Steve V. on December 8th.  He will offer us a guided experience to learn more about ourselves.

November 29th through December 22nd, we are having a Holiday Drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate.  You are eligible to enter with a $25.00 or more purchase.  With a live video, we will do the drawing at 4:30 pm on Sunday, December 22nd.

Featured - Kambaba Jasper
In our upcoming newsletters, we will be discussing different types of Jaspers.  What makes a Jasper versus an Agate or a Chalcedony?  Agate and Jasper are both varieties of Chalcedony, with a Mohs hardness of 7.  Jaspers are determined by crystal size, composition, and their diaphaneity which is opaque.

Jaspers are sedimentary rocks which often form when fine particulate material deposits are cemented together by silica.  The different materials that are cemented together are what give Jaspers their color and opaqueness.  They are composed of different colors, and may also be described as banded, plumed, dendritic, mottled, mossy, or as containing other colorful structures within a particular type of Jasper.  The color is determined by the mineral content of the original sediment.

Kambaba Jasper is a rare form of Orbicular Jasper. It is a sedimentary fossilized stone composed of microcrystalline Quartz and Stromatolites of ancient Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) as well as other ancient microorganisms.  These organisms were plants that contributed to oxygen production.  Stromatolites are over three billion years old, and are evidence of some of the earliest recorded life forms on earth.

Originally known as Green Stromatolite Jasper, it's now called Kambaba or Crocodile Jasper. It is a green, gray, or blue color with dark green orbs.  The orbs are the algae that was compressed by layers of sand and debris, and cemented together over long periods of time.

The main locations where Kambaba Jasper comes from are South Africa and Madagascar.  It can also be found in Belgium, Brazil, Germany, France, India, the Netherlands, and the United States.

Metaphysical Properties:  Kambaba Jasper is a nurturing stone of tranquility and peace.  It connects one with nature which is very healing, balancing, grounding, and restorative.  Due to the green color, it is a heart chakra stone which helps one to love others and themselves more, as well as, helping one to be open to receiving love or to heal from a broken heart.  Kambaba Jasper is good for peaceful sleep as it banishes nightmares and harmful thoughts.  Due to the algae forming this stone, it is a great one to use to connect to ancient places as well as ancestral energy.
